What is a False Dispatch?
A
false alarm dispatch can occur when authorities are notified of a
potential emergency in progress at a home or business and after a
timely investigation, the responding officer finds no evidence that
warranted an emergency response from authorities. If there are too many
false dispatches, they can place an unnecessary drain on police
resources.
What can I do to reduce false alarms?
- Call us if you accidently trip your alarm.
Its true that we will call you if we get an alarm signal from
you. But if we don't get through we dispatch the police. If
you call us this is one way to guarantee the authorities will not be
dispatched.
- Maintain your alarm system
Your alarm system will require basic maintenance from time to
time. This includes replacing the batteries as recommended.
Cleaning detection devices including smoke detectors. We offer
full service and maintenance plans to keep your systems in top
condition.
- Keep in mind environmental factors
Some security devices are effected by the environment they are put
in. If you have a party and hang things from the ceiling, or over
a sensor there is a chance your alarm will false. If you have
pets that run loose in your home/business they can also be a source
of false alarms.
- Pet immune detectors are only so good.
With the advent of pet motion detectors, false alarms have been
significantly reduced. However if a pet can get close to the
device it will still cause a false alarm. or if you have multiple
pets running loose they can also trigger an alarm.

Ten Digit Dialing:
As you know Qwest Communications recently added a 3rd area code to
Utah. This required us to reprogram your alarm system to dial
correctly. If you are in the local calling area for Ogden, this will
effect you. If you have any questions as to if this was done on your
system please contact us or run a quick test.
