The
first thing you should do before testing your system is contact
us. We will place your system in "test mode" this means we will
not dispatch while you are testing. Once you are in test mode you
need to arm the alarm system as if you were going to leave. This
includes entering your code, waiting for the armed indication, then
opening and closing the entry door.
Once you have done this you need to wait for the exit delay timer
to expire "usually 60 seconds" Some wireless alarm systems take
longer before the motion detectors arm. After the system is
armed, open and close the protected doors and walk in front of the
motion detectors. You should hear the siren sounding. Let
the siren run for a good 20 seconds after you open the last protected
door, then turn it off by entering your code. Call our office to
verify the alarms reported correctly.
- What do i need to do if I accidently trip my alarm?
don't panic, the first thing you will need to do is enter your code to
turn the siren off. Once you have it turned off give us a call so
we dont dispatch the police/fire. We will verify your name,
password and that everything is ok.
- What if I give you the wrong password?
It is important to remember your password. We use this as an
indication that you are authorized to be there. If you give us an
incorrect password, we will continue with your contact list and the
proper authorities.
- Will you receive an alarm signal if my system
is not armed?
NO, The system only reports burglar alarms to us while it is armed.
it will send Hold-up alarms, Fire Alarms and general maintenance
signals, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- Does my alarm still work if my telephone lines
get cut, or is dead?
NO, Your alarm system relys on the telephone system to report alarms to
us. The only way for an alarm to get through is if you have a cellular or radio backup system.
- What number do I call for service?
Since
we are a full service alarm company we have one number for
everything. Our service, dispatch, and sales are housed in the
same building with one contact number. This makes it simple for
you if you ever need us.
- Is there a charge for service?
YES,
We do charge anytime we have to come out to your home/business.
We dont charge for telephone support and are happy to talk to
you. We do have service plans available to make your service call
affordable.
- How do I change my user code or contact information?
We require all of your account changes in writing. This protects us and you from inadvertent changes.
- What is the procedure for canceling my account?
Just
like anything we understand the time comes when you may need to cancel
service. If you are moving we can work with you to get your
system moved to your new home. We require written notice of
cancellation 30 days before your contract expires.

What is a False Dispatch?
A
false alarm dispatch can occur when authorities are notified of a
potential emergency in progress at a home or business and after a
timely investigation, the responding officer finds no evidence that
warranted an emergency response from authorities. If there are too many
false dispatches, they can place an unnecessary drain on police
resources.
What can I do to reduce false alarms?
- Call us if you accidently trip your alarm.
Its true that we will call you if we get an alarm signal from
you. But if we dont get through we dispatch the police. If
you call us this is one way to guarantee the authorities will not be
dispatched.
- Maintain your alarm system
Your alarm system will require basic maintenance from time to
time. This includes replacing the batteries as recommended.
Cleaning detection devices including smoke detectors. We offer
full service and maintenance plans to keep your systems in top
condition.
- Keep in mind environmental factors
Some security devices are effected by the environment they are put
in. If you have a party and hang things from the ceiling, or over
a sensor there is a chance your alarm will false. If you have
pets that run loose in your home/business they can also be a source
of false alarms.
- Pet immune detectors are only so good.
With the advent of pet motion detectors, false alarms have been
significantly reduced. However if a pet can get close to the
device it will still cause a false alarm. or if you have multiple
pets running loose they can also trigger an alarm.
for more information on false alarms and what you can do to prevent
them, give us a call.

Ten Digit Dialing:
As you know Qwest Communications recently added a 3rd area code to
Utah. This required us to reprogram your alarm system to dial
correctly. If you are in the local calling area for Ogden, this
will
effect you. If you have any questions as to if this was done on
your
system please contact us or run a quick test.
